BA wins court case – planned strike is “invalid”

December 17: BBC news reports that British Airways has won its legal challenge in the High Court in London that the proposed strike by cabin crew over Christmas is “invalid”.
Unite, the union representing the cabin crew, says that the decision is a “disgraceful day for democracy” and may run a fresh ballot, although timescales may mean any further strike action would be early in the New Year.
Negotiations between the airline and the union are ongoing.
