Thales and CGx Aero team on data across Africa

Thales and CGx Aero have been awarded a contract by the Agency for the Security of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) to deploy a centralised Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) System for its 17 member states.
This AIM solution will provide ASECNA with an interface for management and consultation of all aeronautical data including aeronautical publications, charts, airmen messages and flight plans.
The management of this data will be integrated in a single system, positioning ASECNA as one of the first ANSP to transition from Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) to AIM on the African continent, as requested by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). As a result this system will increase the security and quality of the published regulatory documents of the ASECNA member states.
“We are delighted to have been chosen by ASECNA to provide innovative proven aeronautical data solutions that are evolutionary and reliable,” said Remi Gilles, Vice President, Air Traffic Management. “This system will enable the member states to tackle key challenges in dealing with aeronautical information management, helping them meet todays and tomorrows required quality and integrity of airspace data.”
