Eurocontrol outlines recent validation efforts

Several validation exercises aiming at improving air traffic efficiency in critical areas have been performed at the Eurocontrol Experimental Centre at Brétigny/Orge, France.
Between 30 May and 7 June, the PANAM real-time simulation, conducted as part of a SESAR exercise, led by French DSNA, followed a series of seven prototyping exercises on Point Merge implementation in extended TMA.
The objective was to prepare live trials to be conducted early 2012 in Paris ACC.
A second series of exercises will follow in June and July, anticipating the MACAO simulation planned in September.
Between 4 and 15 April 2011, the FABEC Dover Phase II Real-time Simulation tested a joint civil and military cooperation aiming at improving the existing traffic bottlenecks in the FABEC Dover interface area.
Eurocontrol operates a wide range of validation infrastructures providing assessment facilities in compliance with the European Operational Concept Validation Methodology (E-OCVM).
