Dutch Antilles opts for Frequentis VCS upgrade

The air traffic control service provider for Curacao, NAATC, has entrusted Frequentis with the modernisation of the island’s area control centre (ACC).
The ACC currently uses an earlier Frequentis VCS model: the customer was so pleased with their existing system that the decision to replace it with a newer model from the same company was a logical one.
NAATO – The Netherlands Antilles Air Traffic Control Inc. – provides air navigation services to aircraft operating within the Curacao flight information region (FIR). The company’s aim is to provide professional air traffic control and other services to those airspaces under the responsibility of the Netherlands Antilles.
Frequentis drew on its in-depth knowledge of NAATC needs and the close existing relationship to the company to produce a comprehensive proposal that answered all of the customer’s concerns and requirements. NAATC is very pleased with the way Frequentis handled the project, particularly the exemplary professionalism, attention to detail and ability to provide a tailored solution. Cedric Balentien, NAATC’s Communication Navigation Surveillance Manager, says, “Working with Frequentis for the first VCS system was a great experience. When it was time to replace it we knew from the very beginning that Frequentis would again be our system of choice. They have proven to be reliable and very professional, and here I mean both the technology and the people behind it.”
