Hunt on for new Eurocontrol chief

Eurocontrol, the European air navigation safety agency, is on the look-out for a new director-general as the current holder of the post David McMillan prepares to leave.
The Brussels-based agency says in its advertisement for the position: “David McMillan is leaving at the end of a successful mandate at the end of the year. Eurocontrol is therefore looking for a replacement of the same calibre to continue the work of modernising the agency.”
It said the future agency chief will manage an agency that enjoys wide management independence with regard to the implementation, utilisation and efficient operation of the technical, financial and personnel resources placed at his/her disposal.
The successful candidate will also have to ensure and safeguard the position of the Agency as impartial pan-European and technical/operational entity, drive the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) together with the European Commission and other stakeholders in the SESAR Joint Undertaking.
