NATS working on Prestwick technical fault

NATS is reporting delays to most flights in and out of Scotland this morning because of a technical fault at the air traffic control centre in Prestwick.

The UK air navigation services provider said it identified a technical problem overnight that was causing “interference on some radio frequencies that we use to speak to aircraft.”

“It only affects part of Scottish airspace and flights from some Scottish airports this morning may be delayed as a result,” NATS said in a statement on its website.

Edinburgh Airport tweeted to say there would be delays to all flights Monday morning, but said no flights were being cancelled.
